It wasn’t all good news for Kirby Smart’s group, though. Running back Branson Robinson suffered an injury in the second quarter and didn’t return. SEC Network’s Alyssa Lang reported it was a knee issue that kept him out for the remainder of the contest.
“I just watched Branson Robinson walk into the locker room,” Lang reported on the air. “Slight limp. he looked disappointed. I’m told by Georgia’s staff it’s a right knee injury. He is out for the remainder of today’s game.”
With the victory, Georgia improves to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in SEC play heading into a high-profile matchup next week. The Bulldogs will head to Austin to take on Texas, which is fresh off a Red River Rivalry victory over Oklahoma Saturday afternoon at the Cotton Bowl. ESPN’s College GameDay will be in attendance for that matchup, which should be one of the headliners of the Week 8 slate. Kickoff is set for Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
