While there might not be as much intrigue in Week 8 as we’ve seen in recent weeks, Kirk Herbstreit still has some games that he considers to be must watch. The College GameDay analyst tweeted his list of seven must watch games on the weekend slate.

Herbstreit’s must watch games in Week 8

No. 10 Oregon at UCLA: Oregon and UCLA create one of the most intriguing Week 8 matchups, and Herbstreit sees that. While Oregon is ranked in the top ten, UCLA is a one point home favorite on Saturday. Oregon is coming off of a 24-17 win over Cal and UCLA is coming off of a 24-17 win over Washington. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.

No. 8 Oklahoma State at Iowa State: Oklahoma State might be ranked No. 8, but it’s Iowa State that is a seven point home favorite. The Cowboys are undefeated and beat Texas last week 32-24. Iowa State is 4-2 on the year and is coming off of a win at Kansas State. This is one of the most intriguing matchups of the weekend. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET.

USC at No. 13 Notre Dame: This game could wind up being a high scoring affair. USC lost 42-26 to Utah two weeks ago while Notre Dame beat Virginia Tech 32-29. Both teams are coming off of a bye. Notre Dame is a seven point home favorite ahead of Saturday’s 7:30 p.m. ET.

Clemson at No. 23 Pittsburgh: A big storyline this season has been Clemson’s struggles on the offensive side of the ball. The Tigers are likely going to need to put a lot of points up to hang with a dangerous Pittsburgh offense. The Panthers average 48.3 points per game and 533.5 yards, while Clemson averages 20.5 points and 322.3 yards. This pivotal ACC matchup kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET and is one of Herbstreit’s top Week 8 contests.

No. 22 San Diego State at Air Force: Like Oregon and Oklahoma State, San Diego State is a road underdog at Air Force. This game could be a very exciting one that should remain close throughout. San Diego State is putting up 33 points per game while allowing 16 per game. Air Force averages 31.4 points per game and allows 16.3. San Diego State is undefeated at 6-0 while Air Force is 6-1 with a four game winning streak. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. ET.

Utah at Oregon State: Utah started the season 1-2 but have strung together three consecutive wins to reach 4-2. Last week, Utah upset Arizona State by two scores. Oregon State is 4-2 and coming off of a loss to Washington State two weeks ago. Utah is a three point road favorite, but this came could prove to be a close and exciting matchup. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Tennessee at No. 4 Alabama: Alabama is a 25 point home favorite on Saturday, but Tennessee’s high powered offense could create issues for Nick Saban. Alabama averages 45 points per game while Tennessee is averaging 39.3. This might be the most intriguing matchup of Week 8 and unsurprisingly cracks Herbstreit’s list. This one kicks off at 7 p.m. ET.
