ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit has released his weekly list of top performing teams following an action-packed Week 12. Like always Herbstreit’s list features not just the obvious performances, but also provides recognition to some of the schools who might otherwise be overlooked.

This week’s list has a good mix of both, beginning with South Carolina and its surprising 63-38 blowout of Tennessee. You can view Kirk Herbstreit’s full list of top performing teams below.

South Carolina Gamecocks — Quarterback Spencer Rattler set career highs with 438 yards passing and six touchdowns as South Carolina ended the College Football Playoff hopes of Tennessee. The 63 points scored were the most the Gamecocks have put up on any opponent this season, and Shane Beamer has matched his win total from last season.

USC TrojansAfter getting down 14-0 in the first quarter, USC stormed its way back for a 48-45 victory against rival UCLA. Quarterback Caleb Williams finished 32-of-43 passing for 470 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the win, while the Trojans defense forced four Bruins turnovers.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets The Yellow Jackets handed North Carolina its second loss of the season with a 21-17 triumph on Saturday. Georgia Tech did so mostly on the defensive end, holding Tar Heels quarterback Drake Maye without a touchdown on 16-of-30 passing and also sacking him six times.

Vanderbilt Commodores After snapping a 26-game SEC losing streak last week, Vanderbilt made it two conference wins in a row with a 31-24 victory against Florida. Stepping in for an injured AJ Swann, Mike Wright quarterbacked the Commodores to the win, throwing three touchdowns.

Oregon Ducks After suffering a heartbreaking loss to Washington last week, Oregon bounced back in Week 12 to take down Utah 20-17. The win keeps the Ducks alive in the Pac-12 hunt, and they can clinch their spot in the conference title game with a win against Oregon State to close out the regular season.

Navy Midshipmen — Despite attempting just one pass all game, Navy edged out No. 20 UCF by a score of 17-14 on Saturday. The Midshipmen totaled 248 yards rushing on 63 carries (3.9 yards per carry), muscling their way to two touchdowns and a field goal, which was all they needed.

Montana State Bobcats — Montana State handed in-state rival Montana a 55-21 drubbing on Saturday to finish their regular season 10-1. The Bobcats’ only loss thus far came against a Power 5 school in Oregon State, and they earned the No. 4 seed in the FCS playoffs.
