
<p><a href="https://www.on3.com/rivals/coach/lane-kiffin-135051/">Lane Kiffin</a> is bound for Baton Rouge, with his official decision on Sunday to <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/ole-miss-rebels/news/the-lane-kiffin-era-at-ole-miss-ends-after-six-seasons/">leave</a> <strong><a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/ole-miss-rebels/">Ole Miss</a></strong> <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/lsu-tigers/news/breaking-lsu-football-set-to-name-lane-kiffin-as-head-coach/">for</a> <strong><a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/lsu-tigers/">LSU</a></strong>. Now, as he has boarded that plane to leave the ‘Sip, Oxford is giving him quite the ugly exit this afternoon.</p>



<p><a href="https://x.com/jtalty/status/1995248379140403352?s=46">Video has been posted this evening</a> of the crowd gathered to bid farewell to Kiffin, and those going with him, as he heads to to LSU. Among those is the clip of Kiffin walking from the car onto the plane, with plenty of boos, middle fingers, and choice words aimed his way as he prepares to take off.</p>

<p>That crowd had gathered at the airport over today since the news began leaking, and was officially made known later this afternoon, that Kiffin would be leaving Ole Miss for LSU. He wasn’t the only one to hear it from them either, as <a href="https://www.on3.com/rivals/coach/charlie-weis-jr-133758/">OC Charlie Weis Jr.</a> did <a href="https://www.on3.com/news/ole-miss-offensive-coordinator-charlie-weis-following-lane-kiffin-to-lsu/">as well as he boarded the plane too</a> to join his staff with the Tigers.</p>



<p>This frustration is a result of a weeks-long storyline involving the future of Kiffin at Ole Miss, with him namely being a candidate at LSU and <strong><a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/florida-gators/">Florida</a></strong>. He, by the end of the Egg Bowl on Friday, still didn’t know what he was going to do, with the decision down to the Rebels or the Tigers. <a href="https://www.on3.com/news/lane-kiffin-releases-statement-on-taking-lsu-job-confirms-he-wanted-to-coach-ole-miss-through-cfp/">His choice was then made today</a> in <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/lsu-tigers/news/lsu-is-synonymous-with-excellence-lane-kiffin-speaks-on-new-opportunity/">becoming the next head coach at LSU</a>, and with it making for <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/ole-miss-rebels/news/lane-kiffins-ole-miss-era-ends-as-only-it-could-messy-as-hell/">seemingly a very messy end at this point</a>, considering the timing of it all and <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/ole-miss-rebels/news/audio-leaks-from-ole-miss-team-meeting-keith-carter-introducing-pete-golding-as-head-coach/">the situation it now puts the program in</a>, for him and those leaving with him with Ole Miss.</p>



<p>With this being the decision, it was going to lead to outrage, especially so now in how some of it has apparently gone down to end this process, from Ole Miss towards Kiffin. That was on fully display this evening by their fanbase, as he literally walked away from the peak of what he accomplished over six seasons there with them, got on board that plane, and flew away to the next stop in his coaching career.</p>

<p>Ole Miss OC Charlie Weis is joining Lane Kiffin at LSU, <a href="https://x.com/PeteNakos/status/1995244146567848429?s=20">according to</a><strong> <a href="https://www.on3.com/user/petenakos/">On3’s Pete Nakos</a></strong>. Weis was seen getting on a plane as Rebels fans gathered around booing him.</p>



<p>Prior to this, Ole Miss had been working to retain Weis on staff. Instead, it’s yet another big blow to the Rebels to end this saga and regular season.</p>
