Lane Kiffin reacts to Chef Elizabeth Heiskell promise to run naked in Oxford if HC left Ole Miss
When rumors about Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss first began to circulate, celebrity chef and Misssissippi native Elizabeth Heiskell was so confident he would stay that she made a wild promise. Now it might be catching up with her.
Back on Nov. 12, Heiskell made an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show and proclaimed that the SEC Network analyst was wasting his time talking about Kiffin going to LSU or Florida. Her faith was so strong that she took it a step further.
“Mark my words: he is not leaving,” Heiskell said boldly. “I’ll tell you right now, if he does leave us, I will strip down butt naked and I will run around the Oxford Square. There you go. I said it and I will. That’s how confident I am that he is staying and we will see him next year.”
Of course, we all know how the Kiffin saga ended. The coach announced that he had accepted the job at LSU on Sunday and would not be granted the opportunity to coach the Rebels through the College Football Playoff.
A clip of Heiskell’s comments started to circulate on social media in the days after Kiffin, even catching the eye of the coach. He offered his reponse in a reply on X.

Heiskell surely regrets making that promise now, even if it did seem to be just a joke. But her comments do show what the thought process was for some Ole Miss fans at the time when Kiffin was still weighing his decision.
It was clear that his departure stung, with many Rebels faithful showing up at the airport to boo him as he left for Baton Rouge. Kiffin even claimed he had some people trying to run him off the road while he was driving to the airport.
We’ll have to wait and see whether Heiskell addresses her comments or the response from Kiffin. Ole Miss moves on to the College Football Playoff, where it will likely get to host a first-round game. The Rebels will found out who they’ll play when the final CFP rankings are announced Sunday afternoon.
