Montverde (Fla.) Academy Five-Star Plus+ small forward Liam McNeeley is down to six schools, he tells On3.

Moving forward, the 6-foot-7 junior originally from the Lone Star State will consider Alabama, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas. McNeeley has made official visits to Texas and Indiana but also hopes to make trips to Oklahoma, Kansas, and Michigan before making a decision.

McNeeley is currently averaging 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game for Florida Rebels on the EYBL Circuit. He ranks as the No. 7 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

McNeeley talks programs involved

In previous interviews with On3, Liam McNeeley discussed the programs involved in his recruitment.

Alabama: “They got all new coaches. Coach (Christian) Pino just hit me up a few days ago, and we’re starting to grow that relationship. I saw them watching me this April.”

Indiana: “The relationship with Indiana keeps growing. We talk all the time. They just added Kel’el Ware from the transfer portal, and they’ve been recruiting at a high level. Coach (Mike) Woodson and his basketball mind is intriguing to me. He has an NBA mindset, and that is what I’m trying to do, be a one-and-done. I think he’s capable of helping me do that with his experience being in the league for so long. I’m excited to see what they do next season.

Kansas: “I talk with Coach (Norm) Roberts all the time. He sends me texts like once every day or two days, so we keep in regular touch.”

Michigan: “Coach (Juwan) Howard, talks to me every week. We talk on the phone, we text. He’s obviously a great basketball mind, playing in the NBA and playing in Michigan and now coaching at Michigan. He is coaching his son right now, Jett, and he’s doing really good, so it’s good to see. I’m excited to grow that relationship.”

Oklahoma: “Coach (Porter) Moser has been recruiting me since like eighth or ninth grade. So we have grown really close. He has watched me grow as a player, and I’ve watched him grow as a coach. It’s cool to have that kind of relationship.”

Texas: “There was obviously a head coaching change, but Coach (Rodney) Terry has been there for a while. That’s my guy. He wasn’t the main guy recruiting me before, but I had conversations with him all the time. We got a good relationship.”

McNeeley’s On3 NIL Valuation

Liam McNeeley’s current On3 NIL Valuation is $415,000. This valuation currently ranks McNeeley No. 14 in the On3 high school basketball NIL Ranking. McNeeley has entered the private Verified Athlete Network. This allows him to control, impact, and understand how his On3 Valuation can control new opportunities.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college-level athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a specific moment in time.

The On3 NIL Valuation is comprised of many dynamic data points that focus on three primary categories: social media, athletic performance, and endorsements and collectives.

Scouting Report

“Liam McNeeley can shoot the basketball. That is probably his feature tool, but he is more than just a shooter. With good positional size, 6-foot-7, he can straight line drive a sloppy close-out, knock down a one, and two-dribble pull-up, and is a smart off-ball cutter. McNeeley is a good team defender; he understands footwork and angles well. He also rotates properly and is not afraid to step in and take a charge. While there will be on-the-ball questions, he is good with deflections and defending off the ball. His hips appear a little stiff, which comes into play with some change of direction situations. Mom played D-1 basketball, and so did two uncles and grandfather.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
