Live Blog: Day 3 Adidas 3SSB Live Period

Noblesville, Indiana – We spent the final day of the first live period watching the Adidas 3SSB Circuit.

8:30 AM (17u) Southeast Elite (FL) vs. Team Trae Young (OK)

Coaches Watch: Steve Forbes (Wake Forest), Nate Oates (Alabama) along with assistants from Baylor, Dayton, UConn, Auburn, Tennessee, Texas, Mississippi State, Cincinnati

Bright and early in the morning and college coaches were already lined up to watch. Team Trae Young had the two headliners with 2023 On3 Consensus No. 21 Ja’Kobe Walter and 2023 three-star Kaden Cooper, The two have been top performers all weekend.

Walter finished this game with 32 points on five made threes. Cooper had 18 on four made threes.

9:45 AM (17u) Midwest Select (KY) vs. Dream Vision (CA)

Coaches Watch: Steve Forbes (Wake Forest), Nate Oats (Alabama), Matt McMahon (LSU) with assistants from Ohio State, Dayton, Harvard, Indiana, and Virginia Tech.

Midwest Basketball is led by 2023 On3 Consensus No. 25 Reed Sheppard (Kentucky) and 2023 On3 Consensus No. 78 Gabe Cupps (Indiana). Indiana had an assistant, and quite a few fans, in watching Cupps. Ohio State and Alabama were courtside for 2023 On3 Consensus No. 43 Rayvon Griffith.

The headliner for Dream Vision was 7-0 2023 Jazz Gardner, On3 Consensus No. 70. Gardner claims offers from Kansas, Southern Cal and others. This recruitment could be one that picks up relatively soon. Harvard was in for N’Famara Dabo, a 6-9 2023 post player from Napa (CA) Prolific Prep. He also claims offers from San Diego State and Kansas

While Midwest Basketball won the game by a handful of points, Gardner was the game’s leading scorer with 15 points. He added 11 rebounds and three blocks.

12:15 PM (17u) Team Loaded VA vs. Indiana Elite

Coaches Watch: Kevin Keatts (NC State), Shaka Smart (Marquette), Steve Forbes (Wake Forest) were baseline with assistants from Virginia Tech, Illinois, Michigan, LSU, Ohio State and 15 or so mid-majors.

As the day winds down, flights are going and coming, coaches are still in the stands watching talent. Team Loaded Va is led by 6-6 2023 On3 Consensus No. 36 Dennis Parker, Jr. He has a name and reputation, and rightfully so, the coaches were watching closely. Watch the development of 6-5 2024 Rob Dockery, he is a skilled forward who can create and pass. Dockery’s offers have not reach the high major level yet, but they will.

Perhaps one of the biggest stock raisers on the day was 6-9 2023 three-star Carter Lang with Team Loaded Va. Virginia Tech was already in with an offer, but with more performances like this watch the list grow throughout April.
