The Dallas Cowboys had fun with their 41-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. The team’s social media channels were quick to troll first-year Eagles coach Nick Sirianni for the “Beat Dallas” shirt he wore to a press conference.

The Cowboys dominated in their return to AT&T Stadium, beating the Eagles at home. In the win, Dak Prescott completed 21 of 26 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns.

“This offense is just playing together,” Prescott said after the Cowboys win. “We got a great place to play that we’re playing with. We got a great brotherhood. Everybody’s holding each other accountable. It’s fun to be a part of. We’ve got so many playmakers that don’t have egos. They make my job easy. Offensive line protects and guys go make plays.”

Prescott and the Cowboys offense have been clicking to start the season. Dak Prescott has thrown for 878 yards and six touchdowns in three games, leading the Cowboys to a 2-1 record, with the only loss coming against the reigning Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the season opener.

After dominating the Eagles on the field, the Cowboys took a victory lap, posting a modified look at Sirianni’s shirt. In the new version, the helmets of each team are covered by a piece of duct tape with the word “by” written on it.

The new message from the Cowboys reads “Beat by Dallas” and is accompanied by a shrugging emoji.

Backstory on the shirt

Evidently, Sirianni has an interesting t-shirt collection. After wearing a Jalen Hurts shirt after a victory in Week 1, the Eagles first-year head coach is attempted to get his team riled up against the Cowboys.

“I’m sure they’re going to have a picture of this shirt on (their bulletin board). And that’s fine,” Sirianni said of his “Beat Dallas” shirt. “I can’t tell you how many times since I’ve been here having an interaction with a fan, it’s like, ‘Hey, beat Dallas.’”

Entering the season, the Eagles were widely predicted to finish last in the division. Now, they enter Monday’s game tied for first with the Cowboys and Washington. In a division that figures to be close once again, every game between rivals will sting that much more.

Whether the Eagles head coach’s shirt was on the minds of Cowboys players, it was certainly on the mind of Dallas’ social media team, which took full advantage.
