After the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35, in Super Bowl 57, various people and institutions moved to congratulate the champions. The Orlando Magic were no different.

But instead of just some standard congrats, the Magic riffed on a great moment from the summer when their rookie star Paolo Banchero was mistook for one Patrick Mahomes. Ahead of the Formula 1 grand prix in Miami over the summer, Sky Sports reporter and commentator Martin Brundle mistook Banchero as Mahomes during his pre race track walk.

So congratulating Mahomes on the win — and his Super Bowl MVP honors — was the perfect time to bring that gem of a missed ID back.

It’s far from Brundle’s first faux pas on his track walks, and for all the people to get mistaken for, there are worse ones than Patrick Mahomes. And kudos to the Magic social team for striking while the iron is still hot.

Hopefully for the Magic, one of these days the Chiefs can be congratulating “Paolo” for winning a ring. Or maybe Martin Brundle will misidentify another NBA player as an NFL star.

Rihanna confirms she’s pregnant with second child after Super Bowl 57 halftime show

Rihanna rocked the halftime of Super Bowl 57, pulling from her immense catalog of hits. But as she worked through her halftime set, fans speculated that she appeared to be pregnant.

Reps for Rihanna confirmed to Rolling Stone after the halftime performance that the star is, in fact, pregnant. It will be Rihanna’s second child, after she gave birth in May of 2022 to a boy.

The father of her first child — and presumably the second — is Rihanna’s partner, rapper A$AP Rocky.

It was a memorable halftime show to start, but even more iconic given that it’s probably the highest-profile pregnancy announcement… ever?
