Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery wasn’t happy with his team in the first half. The Hawkeyes had turned the ball over and were fortunate to be tied at the break with Northwestern. In the second half, Iowa took better care of the ball and that led to scoring 47 points in the final 20 minutes on their way to a convincing 86-70 victory over the Wildcats at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Fran McCaffery met with the media following the game and discussed the challenges his club faced in the first half of the game. He also spoke about the play of Filip Rebraca and the shooting of Payton Sandfort, particularly in the second half of the game. Finally he talks about how Iowa took better care of the basketball, allowing only five turnovers in the second half of the game.
