Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons raised eyebrows over the weekend after tweeting his support for Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson. Parsons told the Eagles standout to “go win a bowl for our division,” which caught the attention of Barstool Sports.

In a response blog, a Barstool writer called the second-year linebacker’s tweet the “lowest, saddest moment in Cowboys history,” prompting a fiery clap back from Parsons.

“You people are sick!” Parsons wrote after 2 a.m. on Wednesday. “You will sit in your own misery because of lack of accomplishments than root for others!! I have no Shame! The league is a brotherhood ! I’ll never pray down on another man success nor be ashamed to say I’m happy for my brothers success!”

Parsons previously shared praise for Johnson’s play as he watched the Eagles take down the 49ers to win the NFC title. But the Cowboys star’s call for a divisional rival to win the Super Bowl was apparently a step too far.

“The rivalry is dead,” Barstool blogger Reags wrote. “Fans can try to get all huffy. But the rivalry is now dead. The luster of the Cowboys being ‘better’ is gone.

“You can’t publicly say you want a true rival to win the Super Bowl for your division. Not one person thinks that way. I hope the Eagles lose by 600. It’s all I want from the Super Bowl. Because that’s normal. I’m not going to be sitting around chanting NFC East… The moment you get drafted and suit up for the Cowboys, you gotta hate every other NFC East team.”

The Eagles last won a Super Bowl in 2018 while the Cowboys haven’t won since 1996. That disparity hasn’t affected the way the two fan bases view each other and it’s unlikely to change with a tweet from Micah Parsons. Even if the Eagles win it all, the NFC East rivalry is still alive and well.
