When Aidan Hutchinson was growing up, he knew he wanted to play football at Michigan. Saturday afternoon, he played a huge role in the Wolverines’ first win over arch rival Ohio State in 10 years.

Hutchinson had three sacks, which gave him Michigan’s single-season record with 13. He talked with FOX Sports’ Jenny Taft after the game and was doing his best to savor the moment.

“This is the best moment of my life,” Hutchinson told Taft with his mom standing over his shoulder. “I manifested it, I’m here with my family, with my teammates on this glorious day that we just beat Ohio State.”

Growing up in Plymouth, Mich., Hutchinson knows the magnitude of an Ohio State victory since he watched it his whole lift. That makes it even more poetic that he played such a huge role in the victory.

That’s what he talked about while fans filled the field at Michigan Stadium.

“It’s a breath of fresh air,” Hutchinson said. These are the best fans in the world right here. I’m so proud of our team, our defense, our offense, the whole team executed. Man, I can’t soak this in anymore right now.”

Michigan now moves on to the Big Ten Championship next week in Indianapolis. Are they ready for it? Just ask Hutchinson.

“Man, we want this more than anyone in the country,” he said. “I can tell you that right now. We’re going to try to win that game as bad as we can. I’m kind of at a loss for words right now. This whole crowd is just unbelievable.”

The Michigan Wolverines have knocked off rival Ohio State for the first time since 2011, kicking off a celebration in The Big House and across the state. As the final whistle blew, fans stormed the field at Michigan Stadium to start the party with coaches and players in the middle of a snowy fog.

A career day from running back Hassan Haskins helped set the tone on Saturday. His 28 carries brought 169 yards and five touchdowns. A big day from defensive end Aidan Hutchinson on the opposite side of the ball helped ensure victory and allow Michigan fans to storm the field.

Michigan is now 11-1 heading into a Big Ten Championship game against the Wisconsin Badgers. Entering the day No. 5 in the College Football Playoff, the Wolverines will expect a big boost as they fly into the top-four and assert themselves as national championship contenders.
