Nebraska at Wisconsin actually has implications for Big Ten standings

This season has been largely forgettable for Nebraska. The Cornhuskers started the year 5-2 before going on a five-game losing streak to fall to 5-7. Then, after improving to 6-7, Nebraska lost 10 in a row, falling to 6-17. Nebraska beat Minnesota in early February, but then lost four straight. The Cornhuskers are on a bit of a roll with two straight victories, including over Ohio State on Tuesday. Nebraska is currently 9-21 overall and 3-16 against Big Ten opponents.

Wisconsin has been flirting with cracking the top 10 for much of the season. The Badgers have picked up a few losses in the Big Ten, but still sit at an impressive 24-5 overall and 15-4 against opponents within the conference.

When Wisconsin and Nebraska played earlier in the season, the Badger escaped with a 73-65 victory. If Wisconsin wins on Saturday, it will earn the top seed in the Big Ten Tournament. But with a loss, paired with an Illinois victory over Iowa on Sunday, the Badgers will finish with a share of the Big Ten regular season title, and Illinois holds the tiebreaker to take the top seed in the tournament. Wisconsin is also playing for seeding in the NCAA Tournament, too.
