On3 Consensus 5-star plus quarterback Arch Manning has fans of Georgia, Texas and Alabama anxiously awaiting his decision. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder has been on campus at each school three times since last June, including taking in the game day atmosphere at each.

I’ve logged a new On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick for the Texas Longhorns ahead of another round of visits next month. Texas and Georgia are expecting official visits.

The Longhorns have been front and center in the Manning recruitment since the hire of Steve Sarkisian. Sarkisian’s resume as a quarterback developer, play caller and game planner have always had Texas as a potential destination for Manning. Sarkisian is very well respected by the entire Manning family tree. While Sarkisian is extremely popular with Manning, quarterback coach A.J. Milwee continues to provide an extra boost in the recruitment. Manning and Milwee have developed a strong relationship in recent months. There was some chatter when former On3 Consensus 5-star quarterback Quinn Ewers transferred to Texas that it would hurt the chances with Manning. A pair of sources have said that is not the case.

Manning is also very comfortable at Texas, and in Austin. There are a number of friendships, both old and new, at the university. Manning will make more than a football decision, which has always placed Texas/Austin and Georgia/Athens in strong positions.

In a recent interview with Archie Manning, he spoke about the message he has always maintained when picking a college.

Not knowing an exact date when the move to the SEC will happen has been a hurdle for Texas. Manning will play in the SEC.

Georgia and Alabama have program stability

Texas continues to battle Georgia, and possibly Alabama for the nations top ranked prospect. The Florida Gators are also working to get a visit. They are considered a long shot, at best. The Bulldogs and Alabama have recruited to program stability, and that message has resonated for Kirby Smart and staff. There are also very positive feelings about Georgia within the Manning circle.

Texas has taken a commanding lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine in the last couple of weeks.

Manning is the No. 1-ranked quarterback in the country on the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Manning enters his senior season with 6,307 yards and 81 touchdowns with 17 interceptions. He’s also rushed for nearly 750 yards and 19 touchdowns.
