The New Orleans Saints are bringing in additional firepower to their secondary. According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, New Orleans is signing former Tennessee Volunteers defensive back Bryce Thompson to their practice squad.

This will be Thompson’s second stint with the Saints in as many seasons. Last year after going undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft, the former Volunteer signed with New Orleans just ahead of their mini camps. But before the season started, Thompson was waived with an injured reserve designation. New Orleans brought him back later in the season as a part of their practice squad and activated him in week 16 against Miami Dolphins for his NFL debut.

This move appears to be in correlation with safety/ nickel corner PJ Williams exiting Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings with a thigh injury. Williams would limp back to the locker room for further evaluation and did not return to the game. The Saints are already dealing with another injury at that position as fellow Volunteer alum Alontae Taylor landed on the injured reserve list ahead of their week three matchup against Carolina. Thompson is familiar with the New Orleans defense and would be an ideal acquisition if Williams is unable to play this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

Tennessee reveals uniforms for Saturday’s game at LSU

There is still some time before the Tennessee Volunteers head down to the swamps of Louisiana to take on the LSU Tigers on Saturday. But Tennessee wasted very little time in revealing what uniform combination they will be wearing in this top-25 showdown. The Volunteers are heading into this matchup expecting an all-out brawl and want everything that comes with it. That is why Tennessee will bring out their smoke grey unis for Saturday’s game, letting LSU know that they want all the smoke.

Check out the video below to see the entire uniform and color scheme Tennessee will be wearing on Saturday.

Saturday’s matchup will be the first time Tennessee and LSU have faced off as top-25 opponents since 2007. The Volunteers head into this matchup ranked in the top 10 after an impressive series of victories in their first five games for a 5-0 record. As for LSU, they enter into the game with a 4-1, with their lone loss coming at the hands of the Florida State Seminoles in Week 1.
