For the most part, it’s been an offensive snoozer on Monday Night Football. Neither the New York Giants nor Dallas Cowboys have been able to get anything moving. Four total field goals had been kicked but late in the third quarter, no touchdowns. Thanks to Saquon Barkley, some points were put on the board.

Quarterback Daniel Jones had been doing most of the rushing for the Giants, scrambling when pressured in the pocket. Barkley got his opportunity to make an impact on the game on a first down play, pulling off a signature explosive run.

Taking the ball 36 yards, Barkley got into the endzone to give New York a second-half lead. After a made extra point, they were leading their fierce NFC East rival, 13-6.

You can watch the full play here.

Prior to Monday night, Barkley had only gotten into the end zone once over two games for the Giants. His big play ability is going to be needed for new head coach Brian Daboll throughout the entire season. This touchdown rush against the Cowboys was a perfect example.

Barkley has come in clutch already this year, scoring the game winning two-point conversion against the Tennessee Titans. It’s been a frustrating couple of years for the former first-round running back but now, everything seems to be trending back up.

Eli Manning tells hilarious story on Saquon Barkley during rookie year

When Saquon Barkley was a rookie in 2018, Eli Manning had to dole out some tough love in one particular teaching moment. Barkley joined the Manningcast on ESPN for Monday night’s contest between Denver and Seattle, where he and Eli shared a few laughs as they looked back on the memory.

“He deserved it,” Eli Manning said of Barkely. “I told him what the route was and he was like, ‘No, I think I have this route.’ I’m like, ‘Saquon, I know what route you have. If I tell you to run a certain route, you go ahead and run it. If I tell you tomorrow’s Easter, go paint some eggs.’”
