NFL announces time, date for Dallas Cowboys-Green Bay Packers game in 2022
It’s always must-see television when the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are scheduled to play each other. In 2022, it’ll be no different — and we finally have a date for the showdown between the historic NFL franchises.
On Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN relayed the news that Dallas will travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 13 for the highly-anticipated game.
“More scheduling nuggets: Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys will travel to Green Bay in Week 10 to face the Packers on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 4:25 ET,” tweeted Schefter. “Full schedule will be released Thursday night, at 8 pm, on ESPN.”
While the Cowboys and the Packers have provided some phenomenal entertainment over the years, it usually hasn’t ended well for Dallas. Green Bay has won eight of the last nine matchups between the two franchises, with some Aaron Rodgers’ magic sprinkled in through the seasons.
Alas, Schefter mentions this season’s showdown could have some more juice, as former Packers and current Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy is returning to Green Bay. While McCarthy is revered in the town, letting him leave with a victory at Lambeau would leave a bad taste in the mouths of Packers faithful.
We now know the date of one of the most anticipated games of the season, but the football world will have to wait until Thursday to see the remainder of the NFL schedule.
Full NFL schedule reveal set for Thursday
The annual NFL schedule reveal is coming up Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on the NFL Network. That’s when the full 18-week, 17-game schedule will go public for the first time.
Some games have already been announced, though. ESPN and ABC announced a Week 2 Monday Night Football doubleheader on Monday, where they’ll debut the new play-by-play booth of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. The Buffalo Bills will take on the Tennessee Titans Sept. 19 at 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN and the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles will square off at 8:30 p.m. ET that night on ABC.
International games are already out, as well. The NFL announced its international schedule May 4, featuring games in Mexico, Germany and the United Kingdom.
