Raylen Wilson, the No.1 Linebacker in the On3 Top 100 2023 rankings, is down to five schools – Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, Auburn and Penn State. The 6-foot-2, 210-prospect out of Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln narrowed his list to the five schools out of his 32 offers.

Raylen Wilson is tight with UGA staff

“The relationships that I have with coach (Glenn) Schumann and coach (Kirby) Smart are very strong,” Raylen Wilson said. “When I visited Georgia, I liked how they treated me as a priority there, that was the main thing.”

Michigan wants to use him like Devin Bush

“Like every school in my top five, the relationships I’ve built with the coaches stand out,” Raylen Wilson said. “My relationship with coach (George) Helow and coach (Jim) Harbaugh are really good. Coach Harbaugh was talking about using me like they used Devin Bush, so that was big.”

Oregon plays freshmen

“Oregon plays a lot of young guys,” Raylen Wilson said. “If you can play, you can play. They don’t really care about what class the players are in. The best players are on the field. The statement win over Ohio State was big, too.

Auburn’s success at LB jumps out

“Auburn produces really good linebackers,” Raylen Wilson said. “The two linebackers that they have right now, are about to go to the league, and they have some good linebackers under them as well. My relationship with coach (Jeff) Schmedding played a role in Auburn being in my top five as well.”

Penn State preaches LBU to Raylen Wilson

“With Penn State, they always talk about LBU,” Raylen Wilson said. “And I’m starting to believe it. Micah Parsons is a guy that comes to mind as a guy that strengthens that claim.”

Wilson currently plans on visiting Michigan on Oct. 23 when the Wolverines take on Northwestern. He also plans to visit a few more schools this fall that are to be decided.
