Northwestern has extended an offer to Cypress (Texas) Cy Ranch four-star EDGE Ashton Porter.

Porter is the No. 243 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $15.3k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Porter recently starred at the Underclassman Power Academy, a first of its kind OL/DL camp, and drew the praise of highly-regarded defensive line coach Nathan O’Neal.

“I like his versatility of being able to line up on the edge, as well as DT.” O’Neal told On3. “He has some twitch to him combined with good explosion, power, and toughness in his rush. He showed improvement in his bend today. And he turns corners well. This was my fourth time working with him, and he gets better every time.”

The Wildcats have three commits currently in the 2023 cycle in Dearborn (Mich.) Divine Child three-star offensive lineman Dylan Senda, Mount Prospect (Ill.) Prospect three-star athlete Frank Covey IV and Naperville (Ill.) Naperville North three-star quarterback Aidan Gray.

Porter is heavily favored to end up at Texas, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
