The Ohio State Buckeyes season opener is one of the hottest tickets in town, and the current price range confirms it with tickets climbing to almost $9k. When tickets were released for sale on Thursday, the prices started at $285 each for seats at the top of the stadium, to $8767 each for front row tickets near the 50-yard line, according to SeatGeek’s prices.

Ohio State is scheduled to kick off its 2022 season in one of the most highly anticipated games of the year when they take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Sept. 3. Both teams are coming off a season where they failed to make the College Football Playoff. And both would love to start the year with a win and receive a huge early push in the polls.

The other two major ticket sellers, StubHub and Ticketmaster, also boast pretty hefty price points. Ticketmaster’s tickets range from $345 to $5299. And StubHub’s range is from $336 to just over $7500 for midfield club seats.

Whether you elect to watch the game on TV or in person, the Buckeyes v. Fighting Irish matchup is a game you won’t want to miss. Just keep in mind, if anyone is trying to see it in person, tickets for this matchup between these two college football giants might cost you a mortgage payment two. So it’s best to get your tickets now before the prices jump up as we get closer to the Sept. 3, 7:30 CT PM kickoff on ABC.

Jim Knowles shares update on how CJ Hicks is settling into Ohio State defense

When CJ Hicks decided to attend Ohio State, there was instantly a buzz about him arriving on campus. Hicks enrolled early and went through spring practice for the Buckeyes and has been a big talking point in Colombus, even after spring practice.

New defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, who also coaches linebackers, was asked to update on how Hicks is settling into the Ohio State defense. He said while there are still some things to figure out, Knowles loved a few of the things Hicks is doing.

“He’s still figuring things out because our linebackers are very multiple,” Knowles said. “It’s not just ‘hey, you’re going to this place, you’re doing that. You’re doing a lot of different things.’ Which is good for them when they go to the next level but he’s still figuring things out. When he was able to cut loose and play fast, I was really impressed with his feet, his ability to get from Point A to Point B, and his short space explosiveness. Really impressed with that.”

Knowles was then asked if it was a constant progression as practices went on throughout spring. He agreed, saying you could see improvement from Hicks a couple of months later. Fellow 2022 linebacker enrollee Gabe Powers also got a shoutout from his position coach. Both have already done a good job of fitting in with the Buckeyes.
