Ohio State lands a commitment from in-state four-star RB Favour Akih

Delaware (Ohio) Hayes On300 running back Favour Akih tells On3 he has committed to Ohio State.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Akih chose the Buckeyes over his other finalists in Miami and USC. He visited the Buckeyes four times during the spring and returned for his official visit this past weekend. Akih has been a silent commit for months.
“For me it was the development and the competition!” Akih said. “Coach Lock tells all the guys in the room that they should be as smart as the QB, he breaks football down for you in a way that the game feels slow and you can play as fast as possible! There’s a lot of guys in the room but only two can walk away with the job so everyday you have to compete! He told me that’s how life is, trying to get a job you’re going to have to compete with the entire world! Nothing good comes easy!
“I live 30 minutes away from the stadium, I grew up in Ohio and it will always be Ohio against the world!”

Ohio State landing a prolific back in Favour Akih
In nine games as a junior, Akih rushed for 1,653 yards and 20 touchdowns. On3 ranks Akih as the No. 9 recruit in Ohio, No. 13 running back in the country and No. 144 prospect overall.
Akih adds to an Ohio State class that the On3 Industry previously ranked No. 3 nationally. Time spent in the spring sealed the deal.
“I got to see guys compete at the highest level. The amount of competitiveness I seen today was unbelievable! Everyone was fired up and the pads were popping!
“I know I’ve said this before but it’s really the amount of detail and how in-depth every individual drill is! Ryan Day and Coach Lock are perfectionist they want everything to be as perfect as possible and they raise the bar high but they’re going to coach you to be able to surpass that bar!
“Not a lot of programs are practicing at this level of intensity every single day.”
