Notre Dame, Ole Miss only programs to appear in New Year's Six and College World Series
Two more tickets were punched to Omaha for the College World Series on Sunday afternoon via South Bend, IN, and Oxford, MS. Both Notre Dame and Ole Miss are still in the hunt for a national championship after winning their respective Super Regionals on the road.
Baseball is not the only sport the two programs have had success in this season. Both had good seasons in football and made a New Year’s Six Bowl. Nobody else in the country was able to accomplish the feat, putting the Fighting Irish and Rebels above the rest in this certain category.
Notre Dame was in the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma State in what was the first game of the Marcus Freeman era. Even though they landed on the wrong side of the result, it marked their first non-College Football Playoff New Year’s Six Bowl since 2016.
As for Ole Miss, they had a 10-win regular season for the first time in school history. With Alabama and Georgia making the playoff, they were able to secure a spot in the Sugar Bowl against Baylor. They too fell in their bowl game after Matt Corral went down with an ankle injury early on.

Hopefully, for their baseball programs, returns in Omaha are a bit better.
Notre Dame is still waiting to see who they play in their first game. East Carolina and Texas have seen their game go through a lengthy rain delay but Oklahoma and Texas A&M are on the other side of the bracket. Big-name programs will be there with the Fighting Irish.
Ole Miss will get the winner of the Corvallis Super Regional, where Auburn leads 1-0 heading into Sunday night’s Game 2. Unless Oregon State can pull off the series comeback, it will be an All-SEC affair in the Rebels’ first College World Series game since 2014.
