Four-star consensus safety Michael Daugherty of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson has narrowed his list to eight schools- Georgia, Louisville, Oregon, USC, Auburn, North Carolina, LSU, and Kentucky.
The 6 foot, 170 pound 2023 prospect discussed each of the contenders.
Georgia is home for Michael Daugherty
“Georgia is home,” Daugherty said. “It is always a great time coming down, and always feels like a home atmosphere. There are major opportunities there.”
Culture change at Louisville
Louisville has a great staff that I had a great time with when i went up there,” Daugherty said. “It’s a school that I see making a change in culture.”
Michael Daugherty on Oregon
“Oregon is a great program with many opportunities for me,” Daugherty said. “I haven’t taken a visit, but have been in good contact with Coach (Mario) Cristobal and Coach (Rod) Chance.”
USC visit impressed Michael Daugherty
“USC was my first visit of June and it didn’t disappoint,” Daugherty said. “I enjoyed my time there, and academically has opportunities that interested me. Also coach (Donte) Williams is a great person.”
Atmosphere at Auburn
“They’re close to home right in the SEC,” Daugherty said. “When I went to the GA State game, I loved the atmosphere and coaches.”
Great staff at UNC stands out to Daugherty
“UNC has a heavily recognized coach in Mack Brown with a great staff with men like Dre Bly and Coach (Jay) Bateman,” Daugherty said. “The visit was great for me and Chapel Hill was beautiful.”
LSU is DBU
“LSU is a school that I grew up watching, and is still DBU to me,” Daugherty said. “Coaches like (Daronte) Jones and (Corey) Raymond are still going to uphold that standard. I enjoyed my visit there a lot as well.”
Kentucky is like family
“Kentucky is another place close to family like Louisville,” Daugherty said. “Coach (Chris) Collins is one of the few coaches that have actually sat me down and explained his views on where I would fit and be a part of the Kentucky family in a way.”
