Saint Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers College four-star wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan holds nearly 45 offers. One program currently holds a commanding lead for his commitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine,

That school is Ohio State, who has a 78.0% chance to land McClellan. Matt Parker of Lettermen Row submitted an expert prediction for the Buckeyes earlier today.

“I spoke with Jeremiah (McClellan) last Sunday and after our conversation, I felt like he was a Buckeye,” Parker said. “A few days later, I still feel that way. Ohio State did a great job on the visit last weekend and star wideouts Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka were available to McClellan who asked them just about every question he could about the Buckeyes.”

McClellan is the No. 152 overall prospect and No. 27 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Missouri.

The 5-foot-10.5, 195-pound wideout told On3’s Chad Simmons on Jan. 10 that three schools will make his first cut. They are Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee.

“It is all about coach (Brian) Hartline and what he is doing,” McClellan said. “He gets top receivers, he develops them and they get drafted. Coach Hartline is one of the best. It would be great to play for a coach like him. He just gets his guys ready for the league. Then Kamryn Babb and Cameron Brown both played at my high school before going to Ohio State and they loved it.”

Success of Ohio State’s wide receivers paying off on recruiting trail

Hartline has mentored some of college football’s best receivers over the past few seasons, including Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Marvin Harrison Jr. Olave and Wilson were first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, and the same outcome is expected for both Harrison Jr. and Smith-Njigba.

Meanwhile, Hartline helped land three top-75 wideouts last cycle. They were Miami Gardens (Fla.) American Heritage four-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star Carnell Tate and Rolesville (N.C.) four-star Noah Rogers

Ohio State’s success recruiting top wide receivers has continued in 2024, as the Buckeyes currently hold a commitment from Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Ohio State’s 2024 recruiting class is currently No. 4 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the Big Ten.

In addition to McClellan, the Buckeyes have a 96.0% chance to land New Haven (Ind.) five-star wide receiver Mylan Graham, per the RPM. Graham is the No. 12 overall prospect and No. 4 wide receiver in the On3 Industry Ranking.
