Rome (Ga.) three-star tight end Martavious Collins decommitted from Alabama on Feb. 6. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Crimson Tide’s Iron Bowl rival is now trending for his commitment.

Auburn is leading for Collins at 63.2% following his visit to the Tigers’ spring game on April 8. Four expert predictions are in for Collins to Auburn, most recently from Ethan McDowell of The Wolfpacker.

“Auburn, and tight ends coach Ben Aigamaua, have made Martavious Collins a top priority since January,” said Cole Pinkston of Auburn Live, who has also predicted Collins to commit to the Tigers. “At the time, he was still committed to Alabama. Now, Collins is the blocking specialist/H-back type that Aigamaua wants in his class. Auburn hopes to take two tight ends, but getting Collins was priority No. 1.”

Collins is the No. 430 overall prospect and No. 26 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 52 player in Georgia.

“Coach (Hugh) Freeze, they’re building a special place here,” Collins told Pinkston last week. “With the coaches they have, they’re very welcoming and trying to bring in players and rebuild.”

“I think he’s a great guy and I know with him being the tight end coach, he’s recruiting me heavy,” he added about Aigamaua. “We talk every day, text and everything like that. They’ve showed me that they truly want me.”

Auburn hopes to add Collins to its top-15 2024 class

Right now, Auburn is one of the more successful teams on the recruiting trail. The Tigers have landed three four-stars since February and their 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 13 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, as well as No. 7 in the SEC.

Auburn’s four 2024 commits are Little Rock (Ark.) Little Rock Christian Academy four-star quarterback Walker White, Andalusia (Ala.) four-star running back J’Marion Burnette, Anniston (Ala.) Anniston School four-star cornerback Jayden Lewis and Alabaster (Ala.) Moody School four-star cornerback A’Mon Lane.

As a top-100 quarterback, White is not only the highest-ranked member of the Tigers’ class. He is also recruiting multiple players to The Plains.

“I came in to (the visit) with the mindset that I don’t want to be here for me,” White told Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live on March 17. “I didn’t want the attention to be on me, but wanted to put it on other guys. Also, I wanted to talk to some other guys that we’re looking at, whether it’s o-linemen or receivers, tight ends. That’s the role I gave myself. I wanted to get to know some guys, build relationships.”
