North Richland Hills (Texas) Richland four-star interior offensive lineman Daniel Cruz has narrowed his list of top schools down to four. Those four schools are Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M.

Cruz is the No. 465 overall prospect and No. 31 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 80 player in Texas.

On3 rates Cruz higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 150 overall prospect, No. 7 interior offensive lineman and No. 33 player in Texas.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Texas is the heavy favorite to land a pledge from Cruz. The Longhorns chances sit 96.6%.

“Coach (Kyle) Flood and that coaching staff are the biggest reasons why I like Texas,” Cruz told On3’s Chad Simmons in March. “I see Coach Flood as the type of coach who develop me and help me get to the next level.”

The 6-foot-3, 294-pounder has official visits lined up to Texas A&M (June 9) and Texas (June 23). He kicked off the month with an official to Ohio State.

Texas may hold a commanding lead for Cruz but the official to Ohio State seemingly left an impact on Cruz.

“The big thing that stood out to me was the brotherhood and the connection with the coaches and how much they really want to develop you into the best version of yourself and win games,” Cruz told Lettermen Row following the visit.

Cruz currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $23K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
