Daniel Harris has taken official visits to Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State this month and he is now set to make a decision.

The No. 39 prospect in the On300 will announce his commitment on July 1.

“I am done with my visits and have a few more days to think about it, then I will be ready to commit,” Harris told On3.

He hinted that he was leaning towards a specific school, but he plans to make his final decision later this week.

“I should know a day ahead of my decision. I will think about it, talk it out, and really look over all four schools.

“The official visits were really important for me and they will play a role in my commitment. I was able to meet staff, hang out with players, check out the environment, and see how I fit into the defense. all of those are important to me.

“I will now focus on everything and figure out the best school for me.”

Harris said player development, the opportunity to get on the field, and where he feels most at home will be things he strongly considers.

Harris talks Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State

It will come down to the SEC vs. the Big Ten for Harris. The four-star cornerback out of Miami Gulliver Prep offered quick thoughts on each finalist.

GEORGIA: “It is about my connection with coach Brown at Georgia. He was the first coach to offer me when he was at Rutgers, then he offered me as soon as he got to Georgia. Georgia is coming off a national championship too, and they can develop players. I had a great visit up there.”

MICHIGAN: “Getting up to Michigan and getting to know the people there was big for me. The coaches and players stand out the most about Michigan. They laid it out for me and explained how everything works at Michigan. I like coach Clinkscale a lot and he and coach Harbaugh are doing big things there.”

OHIO STATE: “Ohio State produces top defensive backs every year. They know how to recruit and develop players. Coach Walton is my guy and he is a great recruiter. They are looking to take over the Big Ten. It is a top program that loves to recruit south Florida players.”

PENN STATE: “I had a very good experience on my official visits. The staff was great. Being around them and the players was the best part of my visit. I like coach Smith a lot too. He has put guys into the NFL and we have that connection.”
