Class of 2023 linebacker Drayk Bowen of Merrillville, IN has narrowed his list to three schools on Friday.

The 6-foot-2 220 pounder is down to Auburn, Clemson, and Notre Dame. Bowen also said that he will announce his commitment on Nov. 7.

“My stepmom is having a baby shower that day, so it’ll be nice to share that with her because she has supported me through everything,” Bowen said.

One of the highly coveted prospects, who will play both baseball and football at the next level, elaborated more on his finalists.

Auburn

“Auburn really was a place that made me feel like home,” Bowen said. “Spending the day with baseball and football and getting to see that atmosphere was incredible.”

“Meeting with all the baseball coaches for the first time, I think, made me really like them and put them in my final 3. They really impressed me,” Bowen said. “Even though Auburn had lost, the linebackers were impressive holding Georgia’s very strong running game. They really impressed me and I love the place.”

Clemson

“Clemson was a great place,” Bowen said. “The fans were crazy and that atmosphere was awesome. Being able to see Coach (Brent) Venables and how he coaches, how the defense played, and what their day was like was really cool and informing for me.”

“Talking with Coach (Dabo) Swinney and hearing what he had to say about people playing two sports and the amount of guys that have done it, showed that they could do it with me,” Bowen said. “Baseball was pretty cool, getting to see the facilities and hear a little about what they do was pretty awesome and definitely a place I could play at.”

Notre Dame

“Notre Dame is a great place as well,” Bowen said. “I love the campus and the schooling is top notch. It’s a place where I can really go and get all of the best things. I can get an ivy league degree while playing in the ACC.”

“Getting to see how Coach (Marcus) Freeman coaches and how their defense plays was really helpful for me,” Bowen said. “I also got to talk about scheduling with baseball and football and what that would look like. That was awesome because they’ve really shown that they can do two sports there. Notre Dame really makes me feel at home and a place I can go to for 4 years. “
