Detroit Martin Luther King five-star quarterback and Oregon commit Dante Moore and new Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham have an extremely strong relationship.

Dillingham, who was the Ducks offensive coordinator, was the key recruiter in Moore’s commitment. In the aftermath of his July decision, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons called Dillingham the “M.V.P. of this recruitment” and was a top reason why Moore committed to Oregon in the first place.

But with Dillingham heading to Tempe, Ariz., Moore wished Dillingham all the best in a Twitter post Sunday, telling the coach to “go be great.”

Rumors about Michigan State trying to flip Moore have persisted in recent weeks but Moore defused that recently when he reaffirmed his commitment to the Ducks.

Whether Dillingham’s departure changes anything remains to be seen.

Moore is the No. 7 overall recruit and No. 3 quarterback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $732k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Dante Moore Scouting Summary

Pocket passer who is one of the more accurate and efficient quarterbacks in the 2023 cycle. Skilled as a touch passer with the ability to layer throws and deliver with accuracy and nuance. Has a quick, natural release that aids in the short passing and RPO game. Shows a good arm both on video and in camp settings. Capable of hitting on deep shots off of play action. Put together a highly efficient and productive junior season in leading Martin Luther King to a state title while completing 73 percent of his passes for over 3,000 yards and 40 touchdowns against three interceptions. Does not appear to be quite the athlete or run threat as some of the other top quarterbacks in the cycle at this time. Will need to continue improving his movement skills and foot quickness.
