The Green Bay Packers have released their Thursday injury report ahead of a Week 5 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Green Bay (3-1) is showing people why you shouldn’t judge a team after one week, having turned their season around after an embarrassing 38-3 loss to the Saints in the opening game.

Now defending MVP Aaron Rodgers and company run into red-hot Joe Burrow and the Bengals (3-1) at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. It should be an entertaining game between one of the NFL’s most respected veterans versus perhaps the next young star.

Below is the Packers injury report, released after Thursday’s practice.

Packers Week 5 injury list

Did Not Practice: CB Jaire Alexander (shoulder), C Josh Myers (finger), LB Chauncey River (knee), T Dennis Kelly (illness), TE Marcedes Lewis (resting vet).

By far the biggest name on this list is Alexander, one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. The former Pro Bowler injured his shoulder this past week against the Pittsburgh Steelers and a timetable for return has yet to be announced. At the very least, it seems he won’t play this week, which could open things open for Burrow and the passing game.

The Packers have listed Myers with a finger injury since Week 2, though it hasn’t caused him to miss any time so far. Rivers logged a limited practice Wednesday but appeared to take a step backward as he wasn’t able to Thursday. Kelly is a new addition with an illness after practicing in full Wednesday.

Limited Practice: DL Jack Heflin (ankle), G Elgton Jenkins (ankle), RB Aaron Jones (ankle), CB Kevin King (concussion).

There is good news here for Green Bay as Elgton Jenkins appears to be making progress after missing Week 4. He did not practice Wednesday but was able to get some reps in Thursday. His status will be one of the more important ones to watch.

King missed Week 4 as well, but one would think he should return this week. He also practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday. The Packers could need him even more if Alexander is unable to play.

Full Practice: LB Krys Barnes (concussion), RB AJ Dillon (back), DL Dean Lowry (ankle), CB Isaac Yiadom (quadricep).

No concern for any of these Packers after all practiced in full both days this week. It will be nice to have Barnes back after he missed Week 4 against the Steelers. Yiadom could provide depth in a banged up secondary.
