Pete Thamel joined the College GameDay crew to provide some injury insight for Clemson taking on Wake Forest in Saturday’s huge ACC matchup.

First, Thamel delivered some bad news for both the Demon Deacons and the Tigers, stating that Wake Forest cornerback Caelen Carson and Clemson pass rusher Xavier Thomas will miss this game.

“We’ll start with Wake Forest, cornerback Caelen Carson, Wake’s No. 1 corner, is going to be out for the game. He’s going to be week-to-week. That’s the third corner who’s started for Wake this season that’s not going to play today. DJ Uiagalelei should have some space today,” started Thamel. “Des was talking about the pressure that Clemson was going to be able to put on Sam Hartman coming off the edge, Xavier Thomas, Clemson’s best edge rusher, did not travel. He will not play, he’s expected back next week against NC State.”

While Thamel had to deliver some unfortunate news regarding Carson and Thomas, the ticker at the bottom of the screen confirmed some positive suspicions — Clemson will have defensive lineman Bryan Bresee and Tyler Davis back on the field against Wake Forest.

“DL Bryan Bresee and Tyler Davis to return today,” read the ticker.

As you can see, Clemson will take the good with the bad, while Wake Forest could have some trouble stopping the pass on Saturday. Nevertheless, it’ll be an exciting Saturday for both programs.

Lee Corso predicts Wake Forest win, calls Clemson overrated on ESPN College GameDay

Lee Corso made his feelings known and then some on the Clemson Tigers during College GameDay on Saturday.

Evidently, the legendary coach turned analyst isn’t a fan of Dabo Swinney’s squad in 2022, repeatedly calling the Tigers overrated and picking Wake Forest to send Clemson home with a loss.

“Clemson is overrated. Yeah, Clemson is overrated. That’s right. Clemson’s overrated,” exclaimed Corso. “Wake has lost 13 straight to the Tigers, but this could be the year. Why? Because Wake has got an offense that can out-score the Tigers. They’re at home, where they’ve won 11 straight games, so it makes sense to me.

“Wake Forest upsets No. 5 Clemson today, write it down. Clemson’s overrated!”

Evidently, Lee Corso believes Clemson’s revenge tour will take a huge hit when the Demon Deacons take it to them on Saturday. Time will tell if he’s right, but there’s no question where the analyst stands.
