Pro Football Focus is calling their shot, ranking the Top-10 returning wide receivers in all of college football.

“It’s officially time to hit the reset button,” wrote Max Chadwick of Pro Football Focus. “Now that we know who will continue playing on Saturdays next fall, let’s take an early look at the top returning players at every position.

“Here are the top 10 wide receivers returning to college football next season. Please note that NFL projection is not taken into account.”

There’s plenty of fascinating options, but Chadwick narrowed it down to the best of the best, which you can see below.

Top-10 returning wide receivers in college football, via PFF:

  1. Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State Buckeyes
  2. Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State Buckeyes
  3. Rome Odunze, Washington Huskies
  4. Xavier Worthy, Texas Longhorns
  5. Malik Nabers, LSU Tigers
  6. Jalen McMillan, Washington Huskies
  7. Johnny Wilson, Florida State Seminoles
  8. Dorian Singer, USC Trojans
  9. Ladd McConkey, Georgia Bulldogs
  10. Malachi Corley, Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

Of course, there’s no surprise at the top. Marvin Harrison Jr. is going into 2023 with the most hype any wide receiver has had in college football in a long, long time. Many believe he could elevate to become a top two or three selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, and it seems more than plausible at the moment.

One beneficiary of Harrison Jr.’s prowess will be his teammate with the Buckeyes in Emeka Egbuka, who Chadwick ranked No. 2 among returning wide receivers. Egbuka is phenomenal in his own right, and opposing teams may have to resort to simple prayers in an effort to stop Ohio State’s offense.

Continuing, Ohio State isn’t the only program on Chadwick’s list with two wide receivers in the Top-10, as the Washington Huskies have Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan leading their offense, and their quest to win the Pac-12. With Michael Penix Jr. throwing them the football, the Huskies may be one of the most underrated teams in the country — they’ll be must-see television anytime they’re on the field.

Rounding out the top five is Texas’ Xavier Worthy and LSU’s Malik Nabers. Both have shown flashes throughout their time in college football, but 2023 could be the season they become household names. Improved quarterback play and another year in their schemes could do wonders for them both, as it should be a fun ride for the wide receivers.

As you can see, PFF’s Max Chadwick made a solid list, with plenty of fascinating wide receivers returning to the collegiate level in 2023. It’s going to be enthralling to watch them all play next season.
