Former Clemson Tigers corner Mario Goodrich makes undrafted free agency decision

Unfortunately for former Clemson Tigers cornerback Mario Goodrich, he made it through the 2022 NFL Draft without hearing his name called. But fans of the program should pump their brakes on any pity party for Goodrich as he has already landed with an NFL team. According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the former Clemson defensive star is signing with the Philadelphia Eagles and is getting a solid contract too.

“Former Clemson CB Mario Goodrich is signing with the #Eagles on a deal that includes a whopping $217,000 fully guaranteed – more than late-round picks receive, per his agents @NessMugrabi and @davidcanter,” wrote Pelissero via Twitter.

Last season Goodrich finished the year as a first-team All ACC selection. He ended the season with 48 tackles, two interceptions, and a team-best nine pass breakups. What hurt the senior’s draft stock was an injury he suffered during practice for the senior bowl. While preparing for the game Goodrich suffered a rib injury, and to make matters worse, he aggravated the injury while running the 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine. However, all that is now in the past for the Eagle’s new rookie corner. Next up for him, we’ll be getting acclimated to the NFL offseason process. A process that includes rookie training camp, OTA’s and a series of other events to prepare for the rigors of an NFL season.

Details emerge on AJ Brown’s extension with Eagles

The Tennessee Titans sent shockwaves through the NFL by trading AJ Brown in a blockbuster deal on Thursday. It turns out the former Ole Miss star is getting paid in the process.

Brown is receiving a four-year, $100 million deal with the Eagles, including $57 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Tennessee acquired Philadelphia’s No. 18 overall pick with the deal and selected former Arkansas standout Treylon Burks with that selection.

It’s also the second major deal involving a wide receiver after the Baltimore Ravens traded Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals, reuniting him with former Oklahoma teammate Kyler Murray. The Eagles also traded up earlier in the draft, acquiring the Houston Texans’ No. 13 overall pick and taking former Georgia defensive lineman Jordan Davis.
