Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman quarterback Micah Alejado currently holds offers from Hawaii and Portland State. More schools may enter the mix soon.

Alejado recently took an unofficial visit to California and has heard from Fresno State and Tennessee. He is also in contact with multiple Ivy League programs, including Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale.

“I feel like just a complete table,” Alejado told On3 about his skills under center. “Just learning how to take care of the ball and then just making my right reason(s), being on time and stuff like that and also, the more agile side to it with my feet and being able to create plays if I have to.”

“I feel like just being smart and leading the offense how it’s supposed to be led,” he added about what it takes to be a successful quarterback. “I feel like I’m able to make sure they’re in the right place at the right time and running the right things at the right time. I feel like everybody can just trust me on that part.”

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound signal-caller is off to a breakout junior season during Bishop Gorman’s 10-1 start. So far, Alejado has completed 140-of-182 passes for 2,696 yards, 45 touchdowns and one interception. He also has 28 carries for 205 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Additionally Alejado flourishes in the classroom. It is likely one of the reasons why Ivy League schools are interested in him, as well as Cal, one of the top public universities in the country.

“I’ve been talking with them ever since the recruiting period for us opened,” Alejado said about the Golden Bears. “I’ve just been keeping in touch with the coaches and stuff like that.”

Cal does not have a quarterback commitment in both its 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes. Ahead of his trip to Berkeley, Alejado looked forward to spending time with the Golden Bears’ staff.

“I’m just going there and seeing where we stand on both sides, as well as the experience and just talking to coaches,” Alejado said.
