Rakease Passmore is the No. 36 player in the 2024 On3 150. The 6-foot-5 wing is averaging 13.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 steals per game for his 17-1, top 25 ranked Lincolnton (NC) Combine Academy team this season.

“My ballhandling keeps getting better, and I’m shooting it well off the dribble,” Passmore told On3. “I’ve been getting a lot of reps in, staying focused, and staying with my leadership.”

The four-star is also shooting a reported 40 percent (31-78) from three. On3 caught up with Rakease Passmore after a recent live viewing to talk about his recruitment.

“I’ve taken an official visit to Indiana,” Passmore said. “I don’t have any other official visits set right now, will probably look to do those in the Spring; maybe go see like Oregon or Tennessee. I have an unofficial visit set with Duke for January.”

Passmore talks recruitment

Indiana: “Meeting the coaching staff and the players were my favorite part. They were real cool. Seeing the gym was impressive. I got to watch the practice; their gym was really nice. Coach (Mike) Woodson coaches his guys hard, and he likes for his guards to go.”

Duke: “I got a visit set with them for January 11. I mean, it’s Duke. They’ve been a dream school for me for a minute now. They keep it real with me; we talk about my game, what I need to work on, and everything.”

Oregon: “Oregon is different. I don’t see too many high-level recruits from this area going out there. I’ve watched their highlights, but with our practices and schedule and all, I haven’t seen a game yet. They talk about how I play above the rim and guard.”

Tennessee: “Me and Coach Justin (Gainey) are pretty cool. I like how their wings play; they like their wings to go and play with a lot of freedom. They have a lot of true fans who really go hard for their school out there. I like that.”

In Passmore’s words

“I want to go to a school where I feel like I’m at home,” Passmore said. “I want to get along with my teammates and be comfortable with my time there. I’ll want to play for a coach who will push me to reach my highest limits. I want to play in a program that goes hard and plays high-energy defense. A place where I can win.”
