Rakease Passmore is the No. 38 player in the 2024 On3 150. The 6-foot-5 wing is the No. 41 player in the 2024 On3 Consensus. As a sophomore last season, Passmore averaged 19 points and 6.9 rebounds at Asheville (NC) AC Reynolds High.

“I’m knocking down perimeter shots,” Passmore told On3. “I’ve always been able to get to the basket and play above the rim. I’m playing with a good pace now.”

The four-star transferred to Lincolnton (NC) Combine Academy this season. On3 caught up with Rakease Passmore after a recent game to talk recruiting.

“My only official visit was to Indiana so far,” Passmore said. “I’m trying to set something up with Oregon later.”

Passmore talks recruiting

Indiana: “Hanging out with the coaching staff was great; they’re really cool people. I went to their walkthrough, I was able to see how they play.

“They play fast, and they like big guards. I liked Indiana a lot and their program.”

Oregon: “It’s something different. Most kids around here don’t get to go to Oregon.I like watching them; I like Oregon a lot.

“They like how I play above the rim and can strap up on defense. They also say they like how my perimeter game is coming along.”

“I’m also hearing from schools like Kansas and Tennessee,” Passmore said.

Kansas: “They’re trying to get me over there on campus. I talk to them every other day, and they keep it real with me; tell me what they like and don’t like to see.”

Tennessee: “Tennessee loves athletic wings, and I’m an athletic wing. They like to play above the rim and to let their wins make plays.”

In Passmore’s words

“I want to go to a place that feels like home, a place where I can feel the love,” Passmore said.

“I’ll want to go to a place that plays fast and will put an emphasis on defense. I want to get to the league, so a place that will help me develop to where I want to go.”

Scouting report

Rakease Passmore is a lengthy and highly explosive wing. At 6-foot-5, there is talk of him having a 46-inch max vertical jump. When he gets a head of steam, he attacks the rim with bad intentions. Passmore is much developed as a shooter. The release is higher and more consistent. He needs to develop creating off the bounce and building consistency, getting the ball into his shot pocket off the live dribble. Passmore has a high-level work ethic, which is evident by his rapid improvement over a short amount of time. He averaged 21 points playing with the Garner Road program on the Adidas 3SSB 16u Circuit. There is a massive upside here, and the work is showing to reach his vast ceiling.
