The NFL Scouting Combine and 2022 NFL Draft are just around the corner and every DI program is preparing to boast about their latest draft picks. ProFootballFocus shared the numbers for the top 10 programs in the NFL Draft since 2000.

Unsurprisingly, at the top of the list are Ohio State and Alabama. The Crimson Tide have fielded six national championship squads since 2000, so their draft classes are stacked consistently year after year. Despite that, Alabama doesn’t hold the record for most picks taken in one class.

LSU (2020) and Ohio State (2004) are tied for the all-time record of 14 players selected. The University of Georgia should make up some ground on Florida and LSU with this year’s draft after winning the national title.

In the history of the draft, the team that has had the most picks overall isn’t on the top-10 list for the past two decades. Notre Dame has produced 520 NFL Draft picks all-time, four picks ahead of USC and 47 ahead of Ohio State.

NFL Draft pick rankings

1. Ohio State – 151
2. Alabama – 137
3. LSU – 133
4. Florida – 125
5. Georgia – 124
6. Miami – 123
7. USC – 117
8. Florida State – 113
9. Oklahoma – 106
10. Michigan – 101

Georgia places nation’s best 14 prospects in combine

The Georgia Bulldogs landed a nationwide high of 14 invites for this year’s NFL draft combine.

Behind the national champs in the invite count are Alabama and Oklahoma with 11. Last year, it was actually Ohio State that led the nation’s top programs with 14 invitees, followed by Alabama, Georgia, and Notre Dame with 11 each.

All in all, a total of 324 prospects received invitations to attend this year’s combine, which begins on March 1 in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.

According to some of the latest mock draft projections, as many as eight Georgia players could hear their name called off the board in the first round. Nakobe Dean, Jordan Davis, Travon Walker, Devonte Wyatt, Lewis Cine, Quay Walker, George Pickens and Derion Kendrick are all projected as first-round picks by at least one mock draft within the last week, according to the NFL Mock Draft Database.

That number likely isn’t really realistic, however, the Bulldogs could easily set a program record for most players picked overall, topping last year’s total of nine.
