Week 6 was an extremely exciting one inside the SEC, and Week 7 could be just as fun. Texas A&M took down Alabama and Georgia kept rolling against Auburn, resulting in shakeups in the polls. Arkansas seemingly tied the game against Ole Miss but instead went for two to try and steal the win, but the attempt was unsuccessful and the Rebels held on.

The latest SEC power rankings have arrived, using ESPN’s Football Power Index tool ahead of Week 7.

SEC power rankings entering Week 7

1. Georgia Bulldogs: With Alabama falling in the polls after last week’s loss, Georgia controls its own destiny for the College Football Playoff. The Bulldogs are the top dog in the SEC entering Week 7, and Georgia has a 90.8 percent chance to make the CFP.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide: Despite losing last week, the Crimson Tide still come in as the second best team in the SEC and second nationally using ESPN FPI. Alabama is also given a 53.9 percent chance to make a playoff.

3. Florida Gators: Florida sits at 4-2 and comes in at third in the SEC and sixth nationally entering Week 7. The Gators are likely out of the running for a CFP berth. But with a matchup with Georgia looming in a few weeks, the Gators could still make some noise.

4. Ole Miss Rebels: Ole Miss is 4-1 on the year with the lone loss coming against Alabama. The Rebels have a fairly favorable schedule in the second half of the season, but a run at the CFP is unlikely. Ole Miss ranks 16th nationally in FPI.

5. Arkansas Razorbacks: Arkansas made a bold decision going for the win against Ole Miss, and things could look different if the attempt worked. But the Razorbacks now sit at 4-2 and are ranked fifth in the SEC and 18th nationally entering Week 7.

6. Texas A&M Aggies: The Aggies are riding high after taking down Alabama, and they come in at sixth in the SEC and 19th nationally in Week 7. The win was Texas A&M’s first against SEC opponents this season, making it unlikely that they make a run in the SEC West.

7. Auburn Tigers: Auburn is 4-2 on the year with a 1-1 mark in the SEC. The Tigers face Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M in their next three games and finish the year by hosting Alabama in late November.

8. Tennessee Volunteers: Tennessee is red hot with two consecutive wins. The Volunteers are 4-2 overall and 2-1 against the SEC. The Volunteers could wreak havoc on the SEC with games against Ole Miss, Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia looming.

9. Mississippi State Bulldogs: After dropping a pair of games against Memphis and LSU, Mississippi State got back on track in Week 5 with a win over Texas A&M. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, a matchup with Alabama awaits in Week 7.

10. Kentucky Wildcats: Kentucky has rapidly risen in the polls due to a 6-0 start and a 4-0 record in the SEC. But the Wildcats still come in at 10th in the SEC and 33rd nationally in FPI rankings entering Week 7. Week 7’s game against Georgia has huge implications.

11. LSU Tigers: LSU has struggled this season at 3-3, and its 1-2 SEC record puts the Tigers at the bottom of the SEC West. Five of the Tigers’ final six games are against currently ranked opponents.

12. South Carolina Gamecocks: South Carolina is 3-3, but all three losses have come in the SEC. The Gamecocks have a tough second half schedule, meaning a return to six wins is in doubt.

13. Missouri Tigers: Missouri is also 3-3, and two of the Tigers’ three losses are against SEC opponents. The schedule only gets tougher for Missouri in the SEC in the second half. That starts with a home matchup against Texas A&M in Week 7.

14. Vanderbilt Commodores: Vanderbilt comes in at the bottom of the SEC and 122nd nationally with a 2-4 overall record. The Commodores are 0-2 against SEC opponents.
