The Pittsburgh Steelers unveiled their Friday injury report ahead of a home matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Steelers will be severely shorthanded on defense. Five different Steelers defenders are out for Sunday’s game.

Namely, the secondary has been ravaged for Pittsburgh. Most notably, star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is out with a knee injury after not practicing all week.

Cornerbacks Cameron Sutton, Ahkello Witherspoon and Levi Wallace are all out, as well. Sutton and Witherspoon both have hamstring injuries and neither practiced this week. Wallace has a concussion and was limited on Thursday and Friday but seemingly hasn’t cleared protocol.

Rookie defensive end DeMarvin Leal is also out with a knee injury and didn’t practice on Friday after not being on the report prior.

All this on top of star edge rusher TJ Watt being out for significant time with a pectoral injury. Now they get to face a Buccaneers offense with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Tom Brady.

The good new for the Steelers defense is safety Terrell Edmunds is full go after recovering from a concussion, plus defensive tackles Montravius Adams and Larry Ogunjobi head into the weekend with no designation after both fully practiced on Friday.

And on offense, the Steelers will be without tight end Pat Freiermuth, a key cog in the passing game. Freiermuth has been limited all week with a concussion.
