The relationship between a quarterback and wide receiver is important for any football team – especially at the NFL level. As for Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill, he has a new wideout coming into his offense in former Arkansas standout Treylon Burks, and it’ll be crucial for the two players to build a strong bond ahead of the 2022 season.

As Burks was selected No. 18 overall by the Titans in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft last Thursday night, he immediately joined an organization that needed a wide receiver who could come in and make an immediate impact – and that’s what Tennessee received in Burks.

While Burks jumps to the NFL level after a successful career at Arkansas, which included 2,399 yards and 18 touchdowns over three seasons with the Razorbacks, he is already looking forward to getting to work with Tannehill. In his first press conference after being drafted, Burks explained the process of getting on the same page with the Titans’ quarterback.

“I’d say it takes a lot of just knowing the quarterback,” Burks said. “Actually reaching out to him, getting to know him as a person and who he is. Figure out what he sees, and then also getting on the same page as him and just establishing that relationship with him will make a lot of things better.”

While Burks will be expected to fill the void of former Tennessee receiver A.J. Brown on the offensive side of the ball, he’ll have to form a relationship with Tannehill – who threw for 3,734 yards, 21 touchdowns and 14 interceptions last season.

Burks reveals how he can be instant impact player for Titans

As Burks makes the move to Nashville and begins suiting up for the Titans, he’s focused on making an instant impact – and he revealed how he can do just that while meeting with reporters for his introductory press conference.

“Just being myself,” Burks said. “Not trying to be nobody else. Attacking every day like I’m supposed to. The effort and finish of being that guy that’s going to do the extra effort and finish to succeed.”
