Arch Manning, Texas defeat Marcel Reed, Texas A&M in Lone Star Showdown

For the first time since 2010, the Lone Star Showdown is returning to Austin. Texas A&M will take on Texas at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium for a Black Friday rivalry matchup.

The Aggies have an opportunity to secure a spot in the SEC Championship with a victory over the Longhorns, which would also cap off an undefeated regular season. Friday’s game also marks Arch Manning’s first taste of the rivalry as Texas tries to play spoiler and get a second straight victory over Texas A&M.

Texas put up 285 yards of offense in the second to come back and take down Texas A&M, 27-17, in the Lone Star Showdown. Arch Manning finished 14 of 29 passing for 179 yards and a touchdown along with 53 rushing yards, including the backbreaking touchdown run.

After Texas went three-and-out – while getting Texas A&M to use all its timeouts – Marcel Reed threw his second interception in as many plays. Although there was a penalty on the play, the pick stood, meaning the Longhorns could drain the clock from there.
