NIL legislation allows brands and companies to invest in you. But before they will be reaching out with contracts and offers, you have build yourself first: you must invest in U. Use this NIL advice to help grow your platform as you begin your entrepreneur journey.

Here are quick #investinU tools to focus on as you navigate your NIL journey. You are now an entrepreneur… How will you grow and develop yourself on the field and online in order to succeed?

Shannon Terry, the founder of On3, said this one: “The boss isn’t always right, but he’s always the boss,” and he couldn’t be more accurate. Everyone has a “boss” of some sort, be it a coach, parent, team captain, or boss at work. They may not always be right, but you must understand the hierarchy and the respect that is required in that relationship.

It works in the opposite way as well: most of us are the “boss” of someone in one form or another. You may be a team captain or the leader of a group in school. People surrounding you in class, on the field, and on campus look up to you. You may not always be right. Know to own it, grow from it, and help lead through learning.

This NIL advice from A-Rod is a great message to close on. NIL offers you a choice in your path. Will you be a real star: one that is “maniacal about the process,” insists on pushing themselves to be the best they can, and hits headlines for their effort…. or do you want to be an Instagram star? The choice is yours. Remember what brought you here. Your preparation, devotion, and success- both on the field and within your personal brand- are what brought you these opportunities. Stay focused. You get to lead your own NIL path, so invest in U and create something special.
