Each year at the NFL Combine, players set themselves apart from the pack. The combine can be the difference in millions of dollars for players — helping them up their draft stock by testing well, and sinking it if they test poor.

Prior to the 2022 NFL Draft Combine, ESPN’s Todd McShay expects multiple prospects to be the stars of the show. When trying to pinpoint just who will rise above, McShay pointed out four candidates — Aidan Hutchinson, Kyle Hamilton, Derek Stingley Jr. and George Karlaftis.

“A lot of the top guys will star in Indianapolis in March,” started McShay. “Hutchinson reportedly ran a 4.68 40-yard dash during the preseason, and is a workout warrior in the weight room. Hamilton has a rare size, length and speed combination. Word is he could be around 41 inches in the vertical jump and 10-foot-8 in the broad jump.

“I’m also told Stingley has been in the 4.3s in the 40 and around 42 inches in the vertical during LSU testing, while Karlaftis impressed during Purdue’s workouts, hitting 10 feet in the broad jump at 270 pounds.”

Moreover, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see all four of McShay’s selections picked in the top ten of the NFL Draft. While Hutchinson could go as high as No. 1, Hamilton, Stingley and Karlaftis would follow quickly afterwards.

The NFL Combine is the first step towards NFL stardom. For McShay’s four stars, the opportunity is there for the taking.

Furthermore, all four prospects were drafted inside the top ten in Todd McShay’s first 2022 NFL mock draft. Evidently, the ESPN analyst believes all four talented players will make good on his prediction.

First, Aidan Hutchinson was the first of the four players off the board. Moreover, he was the first player in general off the board — drafted No. 1 by the Detroit Lions. Hutchinson would be perfect for the Lions, as he’s proven to be a player you could build around for Michigan.

Next, Derek Stingley Jr. was selected at No. 4 by McShay — ending up with the New York Jets. In his career at LSU, Stingley has been the definition of shutdown corner. The Jets haven’t had a player that can do the things he can since the days of Darrelle Revis.

Staying in New York is George Karlaftis, who McShay mocked to go No. 5 to the New York Giants. Much like Stingley, Karlaftis would provide the Giants with a top talent at a premium position — the likes of which they haven’t had in years. A franchise with a rich history of pass rushers, Karlaftis would be the next in a long line of greats.

Finally, Hamilton falls a bit before being scooped up by the Jets at No. 9. That’s right — McShay believes the Jets leave the NFL Draft with the insane haul of Stingley and Hamilton. Good luck passing on that secondary.

As you can see, Todd McShay believes Aidan Hutchinson, Kyle Hamilton, Derek Stingley Jr. and George Karlaftis will star in the NFL. Prior, he believes they’ll star at the 2022 NFL Draft Combine.
