The On3 Impact 300 ranks the best players in college football entering the 2022 season, with a full release coming in the next few weeks. Prior to the release of the inaugural list – which also factors into the calculation of the On3 NIL Valuation – On3 has revealed the Top 10 returning defensive tackles.

Georgia star Jalen Carter leads the way after helping power the Bulldogs to a national title last season. With Jordan Davis off to the NFL, he’ll get a chance to feature even more up front in 2022.

These are the 10 most impactful defensive tackles with less than three months until the 2022 season kicks off.

On3 Impact 300’s Top 10 Defensive Tackles

1. Jalen Carter, Georgia

As noted above, Carter will have a chance to feature more thanks to the departure of Jordan Davis. In 2021, Carter managed to rack up 37 tackles and 33 quarterback pressures, also compiling 8.5 tackles for a loss, 3.0 sacks and two blocked kicks. His current NIL valuation stands at $803,000.

2. Bryan Bresee, Clemson

Injuries derailed Bresee’s 2021 campaign, though he was still named a third-team All-ACC selection. He’ll be coming back from a torn ACL and a shoulder injury this fall, hoping to get back to 2020 production levels, when he tallied 33 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss and 4.0 sacks. Current NIL valuation: $691,000.

3. Colby Wooden, Auburn

Wooden has some versatility, able to play both inside at tackle and outside at end. He has racked up 107 career tackles, 18.5 tackles for a loss, 9.0 sacks, a fumble recovery and a blocked kick. He ranks No. 72 in the NIL 100 rankings, carrying a current valuation of $434,000.

4. Calijah Kancey, Pittsburgh

The Miami native goes into his redshirt junior season on the heels of a terrific 2021 campaign in which he earned first-team All-ACC honors. Kancey led Pittsburgh with 13 tackles for a loss while finishing second on the team with seven sacks. He finished the season with 35 total tackles.

5. Jaquelin Roy, LSU

Roy has started only one game for the Tigers, but he has flashed some excellent potential. In 22 appearances he has recorded 48 tackles on the interior, ringing up 10.0 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks. His current NIL valuation is $332,000.

6. Jacob Slade, Michigan State

With 19 starts over the last two seasons, Slade goes into 2022 as a veteran operator on the interior of the Spartans’ line. He earned second-team All-Big Ten honors by the AP after recording 40 tackles, 5.0 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks in 2021.

7. Tyleik Williams, Ohio State

At 6 foot 3, 315 pounds, Williams is one of the bigger defensive tackles the Buckeyes have had in recent memory. But he’s exceptionally athletic, and Ohio State is counting on him to improve on last year’s production: 16 tackles, 5.0 sacks and a forced fumble. The current NIL valuation for the former Top 150 prospect stands at $280,000.

8. Siaki Ika, Baylor

A former transfer from LSU, Ika stood out for the Bears last fall when he racked up 24 tackles, including 4.0 sacks. At 350 pounds, he’s an anchor in the middle at nose tackle who is already on a lot of NFL Draft radars. His NIL valuation currently is $225,000.

9. Jayson Ademilola, Notre Dame

Ademilola opted to return to Notre Dame for a fifth season, giving the Fighting Irish a key starter back. He started every game last season and rang up 49 tackles, 8.9 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks. He also forced a fumble.

10. Jalen Redmond, Oklahoma

Redmond returned to action after opting out in 2020, and he had a significant impact for the Sooners. He recorded 19 tackles, 8.0 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks and a pair of fumble recoveries. His current NIL valuation is $228,000.
