Top 100 junior interior offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa of IMG Academy picked up a scholarship offer from Texas A&M Monday afternoon.

Mauigoa, who is originally from Pago Pago, American Samoa, ranks as the No. 56 player in the On3 Class of 2023 Top 100 list.

Mauigoa thanked Aggies’ head coach Jimbo Fisher and A&M offensive line coach Josh Henson for the offer in a tweet. The Aggies have two offensive linemen committed in the 2022 class. They have one lineman – Colton Thomasson of Smithson Valley (Texas) High – as part of the 2023 cycle.

This is Mauigoa’s 26 scholarship offer. He already had a long list of suitors. This includes schools near the top of his list like Michigan, Oregon, USC, Utah and Washington State.

The Aggies’ offer continues a hot stretch for Mauigoa. Since July, he landed offers from Miami, Maryland, Florida and FAU, to go along with the Aggies. His first offer came on Feb. 8, 2020, when Michigan extended an offer.

Mauigoa, who is 6-foot-6 and 325 pounds, played both ways on the offensive and defensive lines as a freshman at San Bernardino (Calif.) Aquinas.

Francis Mauigoa impresses in season opener

Mauigoa was one of the headliners last Friday night, when IMG Academy faced Plantation American Heritage in a highly-anticipated game featuring countless blue-chip recruits.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power was impressed with Mauigoa’s ability to blow open holes with his blocking.

“He likely projects inside long term but showed well on the edge,” Power said. “Mauigoa was matched up with (No. 1 2022 recruit Marvin) Jones for much of the night and held his own.”

Mauigoa committed to play in the 2023 Under Amour All-America Game and the 2023 Polynesian Bowl.

Mauigoa’s brother, Frederick Mauigoa, was an offensive lineman at Washington State from 2016 to 2019.
