Dylan Harper is On3’s No. 19 ranked player in the 2023 class. The 6-foot-5 guard is averaging 15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game on Nike’s EYBL Circuit this Summer.

“I do a little bit of it all,” Harper told On3. “I have a very high IQ, can run the wing, run the point, whatever the team needs me to do. I’ll watch a lot of big guards, like Cade Cunningham and Josh Giddey, big guys who run the point.”

The 2024 four-star is also the son of NBA champion Ron Harper. On3 caught up with Dylan Harper to talk about his recruitment.

“I would say I’ve developed the best relationship with Texas Tech, Rutgers, Indiana, and Duke. They all reach out to me regularly. I am looking to set a visit with those four and maybe a California school.”

Harper talks recruitment

Rutgers: “Pikiell is a great coach; he gets people to where they need to be. He grew the program from where it was to now they are making the tournament every year.”

Texas Tech: “They play a lot of defense there. They told me they would get my defense right if I went there. And they are always in the tournament too.”

Indiana: “Mike Woodson and the staff has been reaching out to me a lot. They’re always a solid team; you can never doubt them every year.”

Duke: “The care they give you really sticks out. They give you love and support at all times. They’re going to call you and check up on you.”

Teaming up with Naas

“I’ve been talking with Naas Cunningham about going to school together,” Harper said. “I think he’s a great wing, he doesn’t beg for the ball, and you’re going to find him every game because he is always in the right spot.”

In Harper’s words

“I’ll be looking for a school that is going to let me be me,” Harper said. “I want them to put the ball in my hands and let me get places. I want to be a main guy on the team, not fourth or fifth fiddle.”

G-League talk

“I have heard from the G-League a little,” Harper said. “They’ve like said hey and everything, but things haven’t gotten that far yet or that deep. It is a good program; it prepares you for the next level. After high school, you want to play with and against pros, and they offer that really.”
