Hudson Greer, an elite shooting guard in the 2025 class, tells On3 he’s committed to Creighton, becoming the highest-ranked player to ever choose the program.

The 6-foot-6 four-star senior out of Montverde Academy (FL) received offers from the likes of Kansas, Alabama, Washington, BYU, Arizona, and others. However, Creighton was the only school he ended up officially visiting.

Greer, a native of Austin, Texas, is ranked as the 35th overall prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 9 shooting guard in the country.

Greer on his commitment to Creighton

Hudson Greer discussed his decision to choose the Bluejays with On3.

“When I went on my official visit last December, it really just felt like family. The city of Omaha is just different when it comes to watching Creighton basketball. The whole staff, it just felt like love coming from them and ultimately the amount that I felt connected to the staff just made it an easier choice.”

The style of play and Greer’s fit in the system contributed to his decision.

“I just felt that the way in which they play with pindowns, flares, and things of that nature is the best way for me to play. I’m at my best self when I’m moving around the court, lining up my feet and shooting. Just them feeling trust in me and ultimately working myself in as a Baylor Scheierman type of guy. But just with a little more athleticism and obviously need to hit the weight room as well.”

What type of player is Creighton getting in Hudson Greer, in his own words?

“I would say that I’m one of those players no matter the environment, I’m gonna play the right way. No matter if I end up with 20 points or whether it’s 5, as long as we win and I know I contributed to my team to a win. That’s all that matters to me.”

He has a message for Bluejays fans.

“I want to just tell the city of Omaha that you’re getting not only just a great player on the court but off the court as well. Whatever time I’m on campus, whether it’s all 4 years or I get a opportunity to leave early, I’m gonna play my heart out and help us win some big games down the stretch and get things done that haven’t been done for Creighton Basketball yet. Super excited for this opportunity and I’m not gonna shy away from how excited I am to be a Blue Jay. Let it Fly!!!”

Scouting Report

“Hudson Greer has a good frame with nice positional size. You can tell he is young and has some maturing to do when it comes to strength. He is a bursty athlete with good straight-line bounce. He can get on the rim in the half-court and throw it down in traffic. Greer is a smooth three-point shooter with deep range. He has a quick release and shoots with outstanding balance. Greer will need to continue tightening the handle, but he can play off one and two dribbles to get to his spots in the mid-range. Greer already carries multiple high major offers; he is trending as a national prospect in the 2025 class.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw

Earlier this year, Hudson Greer took home On3 MVP honors of the USA Basketball Junior National Team April Minicamp, according to On3’s Jamie Shaw:

“In the session we were able to view, Hudson Greer was consistently aggressive and looking to score the ball. However, in his attempts to score he was not inefficient. He got to his spots in the half-court within two and three dribbles, he aggressively got out in transition, and he knocked down open jumpers in the half-court.

“Greer is a good straight-line athlete with a projectable frame, able to get on the rim in traffic. The handle is good in short spaces and he will need to continue straightening out the shooting release on catch-and-shoot threes. However, he has a good basketball feel, and his overall efficiency is something that stood out this weekend.”
