What led to his trust in head coach Hubert Davis and the staff?
“Spending time with him and talking to him over the phone, it is obvious how much of a genuine and honest person coach Davis is, so it was easier to trust and believe what he was telling me. For the rest of the staff, especially coach Lebo, just the consistency of the message that I was a priority for them showed I could trust them.”
In his own words, what type of player is UNC getting in Derek Dixon?
“I’m a versatile playmaker who can play with or without the ball in his hands. I can handle the ball, pass, score from all three levels, and a consistent shot-maker. I’m a winner and a great teammate who other guys want to play with.”
He has a message for Tar Heel fans.
“UNC isn’t going anywhere and we’re gonna continue to compete and win at the highest level. Go Tar Heels.”
