Trinidad Chambliss jersey theft: Video emerges from alleged locker room incident
Prior to kick-off in Friday’s Egg Bowl matchup between No. 7 Ole Miss and Mississippi State, Lane Kiffin revealed some alarming news. At 3 a.m., Mississippi State fans apparently broke into the Rebels’ locker room and took off with quarterback Trinidad Chambliss‘ jersey.
Cameras in the locker room, set up by Ole Miss equipment manager Ken Crain, caught the act in 4K. Alleged (NSFW) footage from the incident, obtained by Old Row Sports, was posted just before kick-off.
“The team has video of two fans entering their locker room at around 3 am – one himself videoing the break-in – and walking out with Trinidad Chambliss‘ game jersey,” Yahoo Sports! Ross Dellenger wrote on X. “Authorities have surveillance of the vehicle as well.”
Mississippi State is trying everything it can to get into the head of Chambliss, who has been one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC this season. The Ferris State transfer, who opened the year as Austin Simmons‘ backup quarterback, boasts 2,657 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He’s also rushed for 444 yards and six more scores.
“You can hear these fans already out here,” Kiffin told ESPN‘s Marty Smith on ‘SEC This Morning‘. “This will be a great game today. It’s a very passionate rivalry. I mean, shoot, at 10:00 PM last night, luckily our great Ken Crain (our equipment manager) put secret cameras in the locker room so we could watch Mississippi State break into our locker room and steal things.”
“We reported it to Mississippi State and they said, ‘We’ll put security on it’. And how about this? At 3 a.m. in the morning, they break in and take Trinidad (Chambliss)‘s jersey! Guess you can expect nothing less from these people.”

Nick Saban offers advice to Lane Kiffin amid job uncertainty
Chambliss and the Rebels head into Friday’s rivalry game needing losses from both Alabama (Auburn) and Texas A&M (Texas) on Saturday. With a win and losses by those two teams, Ole Miss would face Georgia in the SEC Championship Game with an auto-bid to the College Football Playoff on the line.
With a win, Ole Miss would finish the regular season with an 11-1 record, its best in program history. This comes as Kiffin continues to deal with rumors linking him to job openings at both Florida and LSU, although the Florida rumors have now cooled. Legendary head coach Nick Saban, who Kiffin coached under at Alabama, offered some advice to the Ole Miss head man earlier this week prior to the Egg Bowl.
“How you handle disruptions and distractions like this determines the maturity of your team and their ability to stay focused on the things that matter,” Saban said. “That’s what maturity is – can you stay focused on the things that matter? And what people are saying on the internet doesn’t really mean anything. So, stay focused on the things that matter, which is how you play.”
“You want to play in the NFL someday, you want to get drafted, you want to make more money next year as a college player, go play good. That’s what you need to do. So that’s what you need to focus on. Not where your coach is going to go, not what’s happening, not what people are saying – and nobody knows the answer to that. It isn’t an easy thing to control outside noise, but that’s the way I always tried to do it.”
