Five-star Caleb Downs headlines DB group

The highest ranked 2023 prospect set to attend is Hoschton (Ga.) MIll Creek safety Caleb Downs. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder comes in as a five-star prospect and No. 9 overall in the On3 Consensus. Downs has been one of the top high school football players in the Peach State for the last two seasons and is currently the top-rated safety in what is a very strong cycle at the position. He holds offers from a who’s who of college football. Georgia currently leads in his On3 RPM.

Georgia cornerback commit Marcus Washington joins downs as one of the headliners of the group. Washington is among the more athletic corners in the cycle and should fair well in the testing portion of the event. We’re looking forward to watching him in drills, too. Washington ranks as the No. 51 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

Montgomery (Ala.) Alabama Christian Academy safety/athlete Avery Stuart is another to keep an eye on. The No. 171 prospect in the On3 Consensus is a multi-purpose player at the high school level, but should be working with the defensive back group. He’s one of several top prospects from the Yellowhammer state expected to attend.

Justice Haynes, Noah Rogers among top skill players

The running back group expected to be on hand looks very good. The headliner is Justice Haynes. The Georgia and NFL legacy is a very productive and well-rounded rusher from Roswell (Ga.) Blessed Trinity and ranks as the No. 45 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. Georgia currently leads in his On3 RPM.

Several more blue-chip backs are expected to join Haynes in Alpharetta. Jeremiah Cobb is the top-rated running back in a loaded cycle in the state of Alabama. The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder had a big junior season at Montgomery Catholic and has track speed to boot. Auburn currently tops his RPM. Cobb checks in at No. 171 in the On3 Consensus. Daylan Smothers is set to make the trip down from Charlotte. The 6-foot-180-pounder is the top running back in North Carolina and ranks as the No. 276 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

Dante Dowdell from Picayune (Miss.) Memorial, Dontavius Braswell of Sandersville (Ga.) Washington County and Keyjuan Brown of Atlanta (Ga.) South Atlanta are three more rising running backs who have seen Power Five offers come in as of late.

The receiver group is headlined by Rolesville (N.C.) standout Noah Rogers. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder had a monster junior season with 1,432 yards and 22 touchdowns. He’s also performed well at camps in the past. We feel like Rogers is among the best receivers in the 2023 cycle and look forward to seeing him on Saturday. He currently ranks as the No. 53 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. NC State leads in his RPM.

Ayden Williams of Ridgleand (Miss.) High (No. 238), Ahmari Borden of Quincy (Fla.) Munroe Day (No. 302) and Kevin Concepcion of Charlotte (N.C.) Chambers (No. 345) are three more blue-chip receivers expected to attend.

High upside offensive linemen set to attend

The offensive line group is among the more talented positions on paper heading into the event.

Monroe Freeling is one of the expected headliners, making the way west from Mount Pleasant (S.C.) Oceanside Collegiate Academy. The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder is one of the more athletic tackles in the cycle and currently ranks as the No. 5 prospect at the position and No. 71 overall according to the On3 Consensus. Clemson and Notre Dame are among the many schools after his services.

Bo Hughley of Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes is among the several Georgia commits expected to attend. Hughley ranks No. 78 in the On3 Consensus. Wilkin Formby (No. 228) of Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge has seen his stock rise over the last few months and has one of the better frames among offensive tackles nationally. Stanton Ramil is another rising tackle from the Yellowhammer State set to attend. Shamurad Umarov will make the quick drive over to his home field at Denmark High School.

Douglasville (Ga.) South Paulding guard Madden Sanker headlines the interior line group. Sanker is fresh off a strong end to his wrestling season. He ranks as the No. 106 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. Nathan Efobi of Cumming (Ga.) South Forsyth is a two-way player along the offensive and defensive lines but is on the camp roster as an offensive lineman. Georgia commit RyQueze McElderry is also among the top interior linemen set to attend.

Deep group of front seven defenders expected

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the defensive line and EDGE groups are strong at this camp.

EDGE Keldric Faulk (No. 80) is among the several top prospects making their way across the state line from Alabama. The Highland Home (Ala.) product has several top programs in pursuit with Auburn leading in his RPM. Defensive lineman Hunter Osborne (No. 121) will join Faulk in making their way from Alabama. The Crimson Tide currently hold the edge in his RPM.

Zavion Hardy (No. 75) and T.J.Searcy (No. 163) are two of the top defensive linemen in Georgia and are slated to attend. Both took part in this event last year, turning in good performances.

Two of the top prospects in North Carolina, EDGE Rico Walker (No.191) and defensive lineman Keith Sampson Jr. (No. 219) are also set to make the trip south.

Though he’s currently ranked as a three-star in the On3 Consensus, Barnesville (Ga.) Lamar County’s CJ Allen is the headliner among the linebacker group in our opinion. We’re much higher on Allen than the industry, with the 6-foot-1, 216-pounder ranking as an On300 prospect. We expect him to show well at the camp, particularly in the athletic testing portion.

Loaded 2024 group expected

It seems as though most of the top 2024 prospects in the state of Georgia are expected to be on hand. A number of the rising juniors are already ranked as four-star prospects and are members of On3’s 2024 Watchlist, as listed below.
